Zelda

Ocarina of Time Preface:

Day 0: (October 29, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
This is it kids. This is THE Zelda game! I'm excited for this one! You see, this is the one that got me really interested in the series and there are a few reasons for that. First off, I'm not good with controlling characters in 2-D worlds. This one is in 3-D and that makes it a LOT easier. Also, the controller for the Nintendo 64 was really easy to use (That's my opinion. I know a lot of people don't like it but they're not me. I'm me. And they're not so their opinion means nothing here.). And as I played the game, I found more and more reasons to love this game. Notable reasons that don't give away the game include: the Gerudo Interlude music (look it up and check it out and you'll probably love it) and far more character depth than I've seen in any previous Nintendo game. I really love this game but unfortunately for all you readers, if you don't play it, you'll never really know the full extent of it. If you ever play only one Zelda game, make it this one and also make sure to not discount the experince by choosing the Virtual Console version or anything that isn't the 3DS version. This one actually shows you the 3-Dness of the world and it has better textures on the models (everything looks more realistic). So get out there and play it on a 3DS!

Ocarina of Time Daily Account:

Day 23: (October 29, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Like most Zelda games, it starts out with a narrative. Years ago, there was warring going on in the land of Hyrule and a dying mother showed up in the Forest and asked the people there and their leader, the great Deku Tree (yes, he really is a tree) for protection for her baby boy. The great Deku Tree allowed her to have her dying wish and the boy was raised with the forest children (called Kokiri). The Kokiri all have their own fairy but not the Hyrulean child, since he wasn't a child of the forest. But today, that was about to change. The great Deku Tree had been infected with a powerful evil and he needed the Hyrulean child to help save him from it. The great Deku Tree sent a fairy named Navi to fetch the Hyrulean and that's where the story begins! That boy is this incarnation of Link.

Navi wakes me up to tell me that the great Deku Tree wants to see me. I got the necessary sword and shield then got past the Kokiri guard and spoke with the tree. I accepted his request to help him defeat the evil inside him and he opened up his mount and Navi and I went on in. Inside, I found a slingshot to help me along and I went through all the rooms and got everything there was to get (I've played this game so much already that I didn't have to think much to make it all happen.). Eventually, I came to the boss of the level (Goma) and killed it with ease. I exited and spoke with the great Deku Tree. He explained that he knew he was doomed anyway and that he really just wanted to know that I was capable enough to go talk to the royal family and inform them of the poisoning that was about to kill the great Deku Tree. He said I was good and he asked if I would do that for him. Of course, I accepted and left. While leaving the forest, a girl named Saria stopped me and gave me an ocarina (little musical instrument; everyone should know what it is) and taught me her favorite song. With that, I set out to cross Hyrule Field and make my way to the castle.

Upon getting to Hyrule Castle, I met a girl named Malon who helps her dad (who looks a LOT like Mario) with the work at their ranch: Lon Lon Ranch. She was waiting for her dad who fell asleep just out side the castle in an area where she wasn't allowed. I snuck my way in and found him. I woke him up for his daughter's sake and got him moving so he could finish his dairy delivery to the Castle and return back to Malon. Then I snuck into the castle itself and found this Link's Zelda!

She explained a dream she had where a boy and a fairy came from the forest to help Hyrule to help while a storm came out of the desert to bring destruction to Hyrule. She said that the boy from the forest must be me and the storm from the desert is the leader of the Gerudos; a man named Gannondorf. When I left the forest earlier, the great Deku Tree asked me to bring a "spiritual stone" that represented the forest and told me I'd need it. Zelda told me that there are two other stones and she asked me to get them for her. I agreed and she sent me on my way to the mountain people (called Gorons) to get the next stone...

Day 24: (November 2, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Ah, the Gorons. Awesome people. I'm glad they showed up in both Skyward Sword and Minish Cap. :) Well, they're not Human or Hyrulian kinds of people but I'm going to consider them people anyway. When you get to their city, you find that their leader has shut himself in his room and is in a just plain bad mood. I played the song of the Hylian Royal Family on my ocarina and he let me in then I played that song that Saria taught me and the Goron leader guy (Darunia for anyone keeping track) and he cheered right up! I asked him about the spiritual stone and he told me that he'll need me to take care of some monsters that have very recently started showing up in a favorite cave of theirs. I agreed to do take care of their dinosaur infestation problem and set out to slay me some bad guys.

I opened up the cave enterance by bombing it to pieces and proceeded to once again go through every room and get everything I could. There were a couple things I couldn't get yet because I need to get further in the game first but oh well. I got to the main boss for the level (this one's name was Dodongo) and I ended him with ease. I then collected my heart and was greeted by Darunia and a few other Gorons as I exited the cave. Darunia said he suspected that the man who offered to get rid of the monsters in the cave after he got the spiritual stone was the one who put those monsters there in the first place. He then added that he trusted Link because he accepted the request to get rid of the monsters with no real promise of anything in return. So he gave me a bracelet that lets me lift heavy objects (actually, he gave me that when I agreed to get rid of the monsters in the cave) as well as the spiritual stone of his people and he made me his honorary brother! Also, I can carry bombs, now! I figure that's pretty good for just one level. :)

Day 25: (November 17, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Instead of just running in to get the third spiritual stone, I wanted to take some time and catch up in other aspects of the game. So I visited Lon Lon Ranch, learned a song from Marin, got some heart pieces, explored the Gerudo Canyon (not the Valley which is on the other side of the canyon because they have it blocked off), and I went to Lake Hylia. I got a letter from Princess Ruto which is going to make it so I have access to the next level, and I opened up a few underground caverns and did some good old-fashioned exploring. As a part of all that, I got six heart pieces so I finished one and a half heart containers.

I also killed a few Gold Skulltulas. I don't think I explained those yet so I'll take this oportunity to do just that. You see, there's this family in Kakarilo Village who was hit by one really mean curse. The whole family was turned into a bunch of skulltulas (spiders with skull-looking abdomens) and the only way to break the curse is to kill all the gold skulltulas in the world and get the gold skull they leave behind. It takes pretty much the whole game to do all that but starting early is always a good idea. As you go, different members of the family are released from the curse and when you get the one hundredth gold skulltula token, then the last member is released from the curse. As they are released, they each give you a gift. I'm at 18 now and I think the first one is released at 20 but maybe not. I should check in on that family to see how they're doing...

One last thing to mention is that I paid visit to three Great Fairies. One at the top of Death Mountain (the mountain where the Gorons live), one near the castle, and the last one behind the third level. One gave me magic for a spin attack with my sword, another gave me a fire spell, and one gave me a sort of a teleportation spell. All very useful. And with that I got ready for the next level, saved my game, and quit for the day.

Day 26: (November 18, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Bam! And done! Things go well when you prepare for them. I started out nice and ready for what I had before me. You see, there are a few off-putting things about this level. The first is the fact that it is entirely inside a giant fish and the second is that you have to carry a stubborn Princess Ruto for half of the time. My first time through, I just kept wondering why I should rescue such an arrogant litle fish girl (by the way, the Zoras are fish people). Of course it made sense in the end but the end is pretty far away at this point. Anyway, I entered the level, killed everything in sight, got a nice boomerang for myself (Sokka would be so proud :') ), carried Princess Ruto until we found her priceless treasure that kept her there, killed a giant Octorock (look it up), and killed the level boss Barinade. Keep in mind that my first run through took a lot longer than this one but by now, I have a lot of practice so I knew exactly what to do. I also knew what to expect outside of the level...

After I killed Barinade and Ruto calmed down, she started hitting on me! You see, the Zora Saphire (their spiritual stone) has become a family heirloom given to the betrothed of the next generation of Zora royalty. Meaning: by accepting this item necessary to my mission given by Zelda, I had to agree to be the future kind of the fish people. And I know I'm not the only one to have a problem with this. I guess this was in the back of her mind the whole time and she wanted me to prove myself or something? I dunno. Either way, I got a new boomerang out of it and the last spiritual stone (with strings attached)!

But I wasn't done yet! I'm not sure if I mentioned it before but there's this random guy on the road to the Zora kingdom who sells "magic beans" and of course I know what these are for. ;) I bought up all I could (I think it was 8 of his stock of 10) and set out to get to all the places I could to plant these little guys. While doing this, I got a text from a friend asking if I wanted to watch Legend of Korra with her. So of course, I saved my game and we watched some Legend of Korra!

Day 27: (November 19, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
I started out by looking for more places to plant these seeds and I knew I couldn't get one planted because... well... I just knew. So I figured that's probably the case with the other and I just don't remember anything about it. So I took the Spiritual Stones to Hyrule Castle to meet Zelda. As I approached the town outside of the castle, the sky grew dark and as I was just about to cross the draw bridge, the game cut to an automated cinematic. Zelda and Impa were on a horse getting out of the castle as fast a they could manage! Gannondorf was close after them. Zelda threw something toward me that ended up in the moat. Gannondorf stopped to ask me if I saw where Impa and Zelda went. I told him nothing. He decided that it didn't really matter anyway and he left.

I quickly went to get that thing that Zelda threw into the moat. Lucky for me, this moat is better that most moats and it is a stream. ...because what Zelda left was an ocarina. As I picked it up, a sort of mental message bound to the ocarina and meant for me played in my mind. She explained that Gannondorf tried to take over Hyrule and use Zelda to open up a portal to another realm. He succeeded in the first but not the second. She then told me that the ocarina I have is the Ocarina of Time and that it has a bit of magic to it. She then taught me the Song of Time and told me to get to the Temple of Time with the Spiritual Stones. With that, the message ended and I was left back in the real world. I ran to the Temple of Time and brought the Spiritual Stones to the altar where they opened up a room. Inside that room was the legendary Master Sword! I went over to it and took it out from the stone it spend the last who knows how many years. As I did so, the room turned white. But there was one thing I could see that wasn't white. It was Gannondorf! And he said he knew that I would lead him to this place if he just let me run around for long enough. At that moment, Link realizes that certain events have started and there was nothing he could do about it...

Link woke up a little bit later. He was somewhere he didn't recognize. A man began speaking to him. He introduced himself as Rauru, one of the Sages of the Sacred Realm (the one that Gannondorf was looking for). He told me that the Master Sword did choose me to be the Hero of Time but that I was too young. The sword kept me asleep until I was old enough, a process that took seven years to come about. But now, as an adult, I would be strong enough to be able to fight Gannondorf and win. He told me that he needs to get the other sages in order to stop Gannondorf with their combines power. I agreed to find them and send them to him.

With that, the adventure as adult Link begins! After leaving the Sacred Realm, I was dropped back in the room where I pulled the sword from. As I left the room into the main room where the Spiritual stones were, I was greeted by a new face! This androgenous person introduced theirself as Shiek, the last of the Shiekah. She gave me a run-down of what happened in Hyrule over the last even years then told me to go to Kakariko Village to pick up something I need for the first temple I'll be going to. Since I knew exactly what to do, I went straight to the Kakakriko Graveyard where I opened up one crypt and found the ghost of the previous caretaker of that graveyard, Dampe! Dampe challenged me to a race and promised me a reward if I was able to keep up with him. I got it on my first try! He thanked me for accepting and he gave me an item called the hookshot! This little beauty will shoot out a claw that grabs onto certain things then retracts. If the thing it grabs onto is fixed and not going to move, it'll pull me to what it hooked onto. Otherwise, it brings the item to me.

I took my new toy and went to the Forest Temple and was once again met by Shiek. She taught me a new song that will let me back to this temple. I was just about to use the hookshot to go into the Forest Temple when I got an idea and I left. I went to Zora's Domain (where Ruto and the other Zoras should be). I went into a place that's something of a mini-level where I got to use blue fire to melt red ice. After solving some puzzles and killing a certain wolf, I got some metal boots. I also unfroze the Zora King and everything else trapped in red ice. The King thanked me and gave me a blue tunic that lets me breathe under water. So that's two new toys in addition to the hookshot! And I wasn't done there, either. There was one more thing I wanted to get. I headed to the Goron City and found the only Goron left in their city. This was the son of Darunia and he was named after me! Since I gave all my Links my name, this guy was named Jon. He thought it was pretty awesome to meet the guy who he was named after and who had killed the Great Dodongo, years before. He asked if I was going into Death Mountain and I told him that I was. He then gave me exactly what I came for: the red tunic! This one lets me stay in Death Mountain and not be burned to death because Death Mountain is an active volcano and kinda really hot inside... I took the Goron enterance into Death Mountain and met Shiek once again. She taught me a song that will take me back there again later (beceause it's another Temple where I'll be picking up one of the sages). While there, I noticed the other place to plant a bean that I missed. I took note and headed back to the Forest Temple.

By the way, I got a lot done on this day. In addition to that stuff I already listed, I completely finished the Forest Temple! The metal boots and blue tunic helped in certain places. The short version of this temple is that I got every item, I killed every spider, ghost, skeleton, and bad guy of every sort, I got a bow and some arrows, and I solved every puzzle. For details on how it all went, you'll have to run through it yourself because this is one of my favorite temples in any zelda game and I want you to check it out! I will tell you about the main boss for this level, though. Ganndorf came in with a ghost version of himself and had me fight him. This guy had his own ghost horse and everything. I got to shoot him in pictures and deflect electro-balls with my sword back at him. After that, the real Gannondorf "banished" the ghost to some other realm. I got my heart for finishing the level and Sariah, this Link's best Kokiri friend, awoke as a sage. Waking up as a sage seems like a pretty cool process because it's like instantly gaining knowledge! You know you're one of the special sages and you know how to use powers you never knew you had. She thanked me and she went to join Rauru. Feeling good with everything I had done, I called it good and saved the game.

Day 28: (November 30, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Remembering the beans I planted, I decided to set out and reap the fruits of my labor. And by fruits, I mean pick up those heart pieces that I now have access too because those magic beans have grown into super-cool floaty plants that hover to places with heart pieces that I mostly couldn't get to before! So that was fun I picked up some heart pieces and finished two hearts! I then went on to the next temple: the Water Temple. Shiek had already told me that Ruto was in there trying to kill the evil creature within that kept Zora's Domain frozen. I went in and got it started! Ruto greeted me and made sure that I remembered that I was still set to marry her. She told me what she was doing and asked me to help which of course I was going to do anyway. I didn't see her again but I knew that was going to happen and next time I see her is going to be after I kill the crazy main boss for this temple. Anyway, this temple is a good example of the guys at Nintendo coming up with simple systems that end up making things complex. So kind of like the Bhudda statue back in Skyward Sword, I had to have things set just right to get what I wanted and in things that were cyclical, I had to run through the cycle a couple times; once just isn't enough. I did everyting I could in this main area where I had to change the water level and I was ready to move on to the next area when I realized that I must not remember this level very well because I need one more key than I have before I can move on...

Now this, folks, is where I derail this train. Two circumstances have led me to decide that Ocarina of Time is going to wait for a bit. You see, in "spring 2015" Nintendo is going to release Majora's Mask on the 3DS. It should have similar upgrades that Ocarina of Time got for its 3DS release. I want that because in addition to upgrades, it's going to be the only mobile way for me to play that game and I'm not going to start on one system then switch over to the 3DS because I'm not going to start any of these over. The other thing is something I've been keeping a secret. Remember that one game I skipped because it's only multiplayer? There was a version of it that was released where a single person could play through and the computer would control a second Link. So I'm going to stop Ocarina of Time right here and go back to finish Four Swords and give Nintendo time to get Majora's Mask on the 3DS. So head on over to here and read about my bumbling adventures as a single player playing through a multiplayer world...

Day 31: (December 3, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Yup. Four Swords takes just a few hours to beat. So I'm going to modify the plan and take a different branch of the Hyrule Historia chronology tree. You see, the complications in that time tree happen in Ocarina of Time. One scenario is where Link is killed by Gannondorf. The others are Link being successful but one of him going back to being a child and nobody knowing what really happened; he was never known as a hero while the last is the Hero of Time being remembered as the hero who saved all of Hyrule from Gannondorf. My original plan would be to go to Majora's Mask because it was made right after Ocarina of Time. It even used a LOT of the same characters and game code from Ocarina of Time. It just made sense unless you look at the fact that I'm trying to do these on mobile systems. I have a cartrige for this on my N64 and a downloaded version of it on my Wii but neither of those are mobile and neither have the updated parts that this new release is going to get. So to wait for the Majora's Mask 3DS version with the upgrades, I'm going to go down the path that has A Link to the Past and the oldest games from the original NES. It's going to add in seven games before I get back to Majora's Mask but It's the best way to go since the other path is where the only two games I don't have are. Anyway, that's what is going to happen. Here is what did happen:

I jumped right back into that Water Temple. I did exactly what needs to be done, sometimes and I went back and checked every room. Again. Eventually, I found the compass which shows me the current level's treasures are on my map (don't ask how; it just does). Anyway, I found the key and went further in. It didn't take long for me to reach the legendary Shadow Link! This guy is pretty cool. And if you're familiar with Scott Pilgrim VS the World then you know the concept because it's the same idea with Nega Scott except Shadow Link really is evil and he does exactly what you do which mades it really hard to hit him when your sword keeps hitting his. So, epic battle. But I've done this a few times so this time didn't take anywhere near as long as it did at first. I continued on... I did the hero thing and made my way to the boss. This level's model is a strange amoeba thing that loves to throw heroes across the room into some spikes that line the base of the walls. I used the hookshot which I upgraded to the longshot earlier to take out the nucleus and I cut it up a bit with my sword. The poor thing really didn't stand a chance. After it died, I met the now adult Ruto who still admires me but admitted she can't marry me. She is, of course, one of the sages. She added her power to mine by giving me a medalion (just like the other sages did) and I continued on to the Fire Temple.

I used the song that Shiek taught me to get there and I went on in. I quickly met Darunia who expressed his joy for seeing me again and then asked me to free the Gorons from the Temple while he went into the den of a resurrected dragon creature named Volvagia. I did as he asked and got to saving his people. But after a couple, I realised it was time to quit for the day...

Day 32: (December 4, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
So I got right back to it and kept making my way through the dungeon here... ...and I'm kinda coming back to this over a week and a few levels later so I hope I remember it all right. Back to the story: I made my way through, avoided walls of fire, killed a couple crazy (though cool) bomb baddies who love running around in circles, found a really cool and really huge hammer (the Megaton Hammer for those of you who care about correctness), and I eventually rescued every Goron. Except one. Darunia went in there unprepared and I had to kill the resurrected dragon for him. Upon doing so, Darunia realized that he was a sage as well and he joined the rest of the sages in the Sacred Realm. Upon leaving the volcano dungeon, Shiek showed up once more and instructed me to go to Kakariko village. Of course, that was after she taught me another song, the Nocutrne of Shadow...

Day 33: (December 5, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Of course I knew exactly what to do so I'm going to do a huge favor to all of you who are reading this and thinking about playing this one. I'm going to not make you figure it out and just say that I learned the song of storms from the guy in the windmill (as adult Link) then went back in time and played the song to make the windmill go faster and take all the water out of the town well (thats okay, they'll get water some other way...). After that, I went down the well and entered the mini-dungeon they have in there. The point of this dungeon is to get an item called the Lens of Truth. This magnifying lense is a nifty tool that lets you see in visible things and also lets you see through walls that aren't really there. Naturally, I got the lens then totally cleared the mini-dungeon before going back to the future (see what I did there? ;) ) and I played the Nocturne of Shadow to get my happy self into the Shadow Temple.

Naturally, I needed the Lens of Truth to see that the way in was an invisible pathway over a bottomless pit. Anyway, I won't bore you with the details of how I expertly plowed through this level, killing skeleton warriors (called Stalfos), getting the floaty boots (Hover Boots really, but I like my name so much more), and taking the ghost ship to the gates of the boss. I mean, why would I bore you with stories like that? Because I want you to play this, of course! ;) This was my favorite level as adult Link and if you're thinking about playing this game, I'm going to tell you once more that you need to play this game! Anyway, back to the story. One reason I like this level is because of the boss. This one is called Bongo Bongo and yes, there is a drum theme here. To fight Bongo Bongo, you get dumped in an area that's completely dark except for the center which is just one really huge drum surface. Bongo Bongo itself is suspended from the ceiling. In place of a head, it has something that looks a bit like a flower with a giant eye in the center. Its hands are disonnected and free-floating. The hands use the floor like a drum and you more or less go flying up and falling down. If you're wearing the floaty boots, it's not so bad but you also don't have the traction that you almost need to be able to move around in this battle. You see, the way to kill this guy is by stunning the hands then hitting the eye when the flowerface attacks. It sounds easy but you have to move fast between all of your attacks then wait until the right moment when hitting the eye. He proved to be a bit tougher than I remembered but I got him and ended the level. After that, I met Impa who woke up as a sage and joined the rest of the sages to help me from the Sacerd Realm. Then Shiek showed up and told me to get to Gerudo Valley. You know, that place with the cool music where Gannondorf came from. That place. And so, I made an effort to get there, immediately! ...right after calling it good for the day.

Day 34: (December 7, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
Okay, kids. I'm getting close to the end. As I hope you've read before, I've already been through this game a few times so I know how much more work I have left to do. Anyway, I got on my Epona and headed straight for the valley! Having Epona is necessary because Nintendo threw in one of those non-dungeon obstacles that is frustrating but cool in the end. I used Epona to jump across the bridge that went out. I talked to the leader of a group of carpenters who I get to save. By the way, these guys (yes, all guys) thought they could somehow join the Gerudos who are an all female society. I'm not sure why they thought it was possible but they did and because of that, all four of them got themselves put into their own individual prisons inside the fortress. Yup. I get to save them all. Here's the tricky part: while it is possible for you to rescue all of the carpenters without getting caught yourself, it's really really tough and I've never done it before. Well, never done it before today! It was close, too. You see, when a Gerudo sees you, they'll blow a whistle, there's a brief pause, then you're stuck as they run toward you. Also, for each time you try to free one of the carpenters, you get attacked by a Gerudo guard and if you don't win in some way or other, you get thrown into your own cell. Of ourse you can get out (with use of the hookshot) but come on! I play Metal Gear! Right, right. Back to it, then. After the second carpenter, I went outside and was on my way to re-entering at a different point when I heart the dreaded whistle!!!1! Lucky for me, there was that brief pause before I froze. I made it. Just barely, but I made it! I then went on, feeling very grateful, and freed the other two carpenters. After that fourth one was freed and ran off, there was a Gerudo behind me. She said she was watching me and was impressed with how I got by all of her guards. She made me an honorary Gerudo! Take that, carpenter dudes! Being an honorary Gerudo, I could use their horseback archery course or I could use their training mini-dungeon. I didn't use either of them and I would have been better off if I had, but I was very much interested in getting to the last Temple.

I went over to the gate that separated the Gerudo Fortress from the desert that was the path to the Spirit Temple, the Desert Colossus (it gets the name Desert Colossus bey being a gigantic statue of a Gerudo carved out of the face of a gigantic rock in the middle of the desert. Think Petra except a Gerudo sitting almost like a Budda with each hand out in front of her instead of looking like a building). I payed attention to the hints given to me in the past so I remembered that I need the floaty boots for the first half of the sand-stormy desert and then I used the Lens of Truth for the second half. When I made it there, I found the second Great Fairy as adult Link and got the help she had to offer then went into the Desert Colossus. After coming back out, Shiek showed up and taught me the last song: the Requiem of Spirit. When she was convinced I knew it, she told me to come back as little link and continue my quest. I did as instructed and came back as child link and I found a new Gerudo there. This was the real leader of the Gerudo, the one who should lead if it wasn't for their tradition of letting the Gerudo-born males (happens only once in 500 years, or so I'm told) lead the people. Anyway, Nabooru was trying to find a way to get the Silver Gauntlets in the temple because she didn't agree with Gannondorf and she wanted to end his rule. You see, she was stuck at a place where she was too big to get in. Not little Link, though! I agreed to go in and get the gauntlets for her so I did. It was another little mini-dungeon cleverly hidden inside the actual dungeon but I eventually made it out to the right hand of the Desert Colossus and got the gauntlets (too big for little Link, by the way) just in time to see a couple Gerudo witches (twins named Koume and Kotake) abduct Nabooru by sucking her into a dark portal. Well, crap. I guess that means I'll just have to go be big link and save her seven years in the future with these shiny new silver gauntlets I have...

I traveled in time by pulling the Master Sword out of its pedestal again and used the Requiem of Spirit to get back to the Desert Colossus and I got to it! I swung my sword. I killed some bad guys. I picked up the Mirror Shield. I reflected some light onto some stuff. I left out a bunch of cool information in a game report. I made my way to the end of the dungeon. I met up with Knuckles. For anyone not familiar with this recurring bad guy, Knuckles is a fully armored knight (well, sometimes he's missing a shield). I think there was a couple back in Skyward Sword. Anyway, this is the biggest and baddest Knuckles in all of Ocarina of Time because this one was special. By the time I was done destroying it to the point that any Knucles would just fall apart into its pieces of armor, Nabooru fell out. She thanked me for freeing her then she sicked me on Koume and Kotake. I was glad to go after them because it seems that those two have been helping out Gannondorf with just about everything from day one! I used the fire from one to attack the other and the ice from the other to attack the one by using my fancy new Mirror Shield. After a bit, they did something crazy and they morphed into one person! The game says her name was Twinrova. Sounds reasonable enough but it doesn't matter because using the same principles from before (but with a slightly different technique), I defeated her. After that, they split back into Koume and Kotake and were suked up into who knows where in a column of light, bickering at eachother the whole way. Nabooru told me that she was the last of the sages and that she was going to join the rest and do everything she could to help as I went on to the next level: Gannon's tower.

Day 35: (December 8, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
One more warning on the situation here, kids! I'm near the end! I'm at Gannon's Castle (yeah, I called it a tower earlier. There's a reason for that.) and that means no more dungeons after this one. It ends here. Also, I probably forgot to mention it at the right time but This is about where Shiek finally reveals her identity! She was totally Zelda the whole time. :P But right after she let that be known, Gannondorf jumped in and did the normal thing and kidnapped her. I know, it does get old but what can you do? Kidnapped is kidnapped and that's just no condition for a princess like Zelda to be in. Something else that happened was Zelda gave me some magic to use with my arrows so I can now do Light Arrows! Now that we've cleared that up, here's what happened: I made my way to where Hyrule Castle was and where Gannon's Castle is. It's just a floating castle on a rock above a pit of lava with no real enterance. Nothing special. The sages all got together and made a bridge for me to use and I entered. The bottom level of this castle is sealed using power from each of the temples to keep anyone out of the middle. So long as any of the temples' power remained, I couldn't get to the lext level up. So I got started on going to each room around the main area (one for each temple) and started using the Light Arrows to disrupt the energy going in from the temples. I didn't finish, though because I wandered into the fire room when I need the new and improved Golden Gauntlets when I didn't have them yet. I decided to call it a day and work on that tomorrow.

Day 35: (December 9, 2014)
Ocarina of Time
The end is nigh! Seriously, though. This is the last day for Ocarina of Time. Sad day... :'( You see, after I started the game up again, I went to a different room and passed it while getting the Golden Gauntlets. I ran outside and used the gauntlets to clear the way to the very last fairy and got a nifty spell from her. I then went back into the castle. I finished the temple rooms and began heading up. I fought a couple Stalfos then a couple Knucles. Then it happened. I entered the room where Gannondorf was. I did have to leave it, go up some stairs then re-enter on a higher level but that was the room! Gannondorf was there in front of his organ, playing away with Zelda trapped in a floating crystal next to him as I entered. He immediately noticed as the triforce pieces that we each contained began to resonate and glow. Continuing on the tradition/curse brought on by Demise, Gannondorf began fighting me to get my part of the triforce then Zelda's so he could have the whole thing! Parts of the floor gave way and Zelda disappeared. Navi wasn't strong enough to let me lock onto Gannondorf because of his black magic but that was alright. This part was easy. Like the ghost he made in the Forest Temple, I had to deflect energy balls with my sword. An added twist is that I now had Light Arrows to hit him with when he was stunned. To make it even better, that Light Arrow hit dropped his hovering self to the floor where I proceded to hit him repeatedly with my sword. He couldn't take much of that and eventually he was beaten (green blood, now? the original N64 version had red blood for Gannondorf...) and that was good but his magic began to fade and his castle began to fall. Zelda got my attention and led the way as we ran out of that castle as fast as we could! Eventually, we got out (but not back across the bridge) just in time to see it all fall to pieces. After that happened, we heard a sound.

I went over to invetsigate (and make sure Gannondorf really was dead). He wasn't dead yet... He broke out of the remains of his once great tower and began growing into something more fitting of Demise: the large pig beast that any classic Zelda player would easily recgnize as Gannon. He knocked my sword from my hands and brought up a wall of flame separating us from the world, Zelda, and my Master Sword... I instantly regretted not rememberin to get the Biggoron's Sword. If I did get it, I would have it right now and not be stuck with arrows and the hookshot to bring him down. I used up two of my three fairies but I eventually got him down! Go Me! The firewall went down. I ran for my sword. I got it then ran back then went for a hit when the computer took over and pretty much wailed on him. It was all over. No more Gannondorf. No more Gannon. Link was returned to his childhood and only Zelda, Link, and the sages knew about the miserable seven years that Hyrule never had to endure. I watched the credits, remembering the huge party that Hyrule had at Lon Lon Ranch in the original version and comparing the two. Then when the credits were over, I had Master Quest mode unlocked... o.o

postface:
Well, kids. This is the point where things really split up. According to the Hyrule Historia, there are three paths followed here: Gannon won and I lost, I (Link) won and was returned to a childhood where none of the regular people knew what he did, and Link won and kept going on from the point of adulthood with all the people learning about the Hero of Time who saved them from the misery and woes of life under Gannondorf's rule. I was originally going to go with the second because that starts with Majora's Mask which is this Link right after being left as a child. I'm not going to do that because I want to use the 3DS version of the game which won't be released for a few morre months. Instead, I'm going to go with the first option where Gannon won. This one begins with < href="./z05.html">A Link to the Past...
