Four Swords: Apology and Explanation

Days 0-0: (October 26, 2014)
Four Swords
This game is being put off indefinitely. I'm sorry about that. I'm now sure when I'll be able to play it but with the cartrige I have, a single player game isn't possible. If any reader out there wants to see this game happen then I invite you to be a part of it because it will not happen any other way...

Day 29: (December 1, 2014)
Four Swords
Just kidding!!! I've been trying to avoid it but for reasons pointed out in day 28 (Ocarina of Time), I'm going to use the Anniversary Edition of Four Swords to hopefully get through this game. Hopefully I don't have to do any other crazy more non-linear stuff than I'm already doing but we'll see how this goes. And now, I give you Jon's single-player misadventures in Four Swords:

It started out with the backstory, of course. Vaati had weakened the seal on the Four Sword and Zelda went with Link to check it out and try to get that seal strengthened up again. Upon checking it out, we found out pretty quickly that Vaati had actually escaped. He waited for Zelda so he could have a second go at his plan from Minish Cap. He kidnapped her and I was left alone... Or at least that's how it seemed before a few fairies came in and talked me into pulling the Four Sword from its mantle. I did so and then split into four Links and that started the game.

I was first given an option of multiplayer or single player so I chose my only option (insert foreveralone.jpg here). I was also given the choice of color for my computer controlled companion Link. Out of red, blue, and purple, I chose blue. There are five six areas. The first is for training on items and is mostly optional. The second, third, and fourth are ones that are the main areas in the world: The Sea of Trees, Talus Cave, and Death Mountain. The fifth is Vaati's floating castle and the last is the Realm of Memories (the last one isn't in the original version if I understand what I read on Wikipedia.org correctly). I went through the Training then got to work at the Sea of Trees. This game looks like a nice mix of Minish Cap and A Link to the Past and it sounds like those plus Ocarina of Time. These areas were pretty easy, even the Sea of Trees was pretty easy so long as I was thorough in clearing areas. After the Sea of Trees, I called it a day...

Day 30: (December 2, 2014)
Four Swords
I got right back to it with the Talus Cave. My little computer controlled companion Link was right there with me. I continued with the Talus Cave and moved on to Death Mountain. It was all pretty linear and didn't have much story but I'm sure that this would be great with other people also playing along! I got to Vaati's Castle and it was nothing special. I defeated him and got him sealed back into the sword and I got my Zelda back. :) Then came the cool part! The Realm of Memories was great! It has areas taken from three previous Zelda games: Link's Awakening, A Link to the Past, and the original Legend of Zelda. For each, the graphics (tile sets) for the Links were changed to more closely reflect the world I was currently in. It was especially awesome because I knew these areas and worlds pretty well for the most part. I did clear all these areas pretty quickly but I think that if I was playing through it with other people, it would take longer because of experiences with Four Swords Adventures. Get out there and try this game! Either the original GBA version with the re-release of A Link to the Past or the new one downloadable on the DS. Just remember that you won't get the Realm of Memories on the GBA version...
